![]() ![]() ![]() The night hunter can succesfully pounce and kill a survivor inside a safe zone if no survivor manually hits the night hunter with uv light, because oddly enough safe zone uv lighting drains the night hunters health without draining any of his energy, thus allowing him to succesfully pounce but almost always ensuring he dies for the kill as well.Īs stated by another poster though, all basic zombies that manage to accidently find themselves inside the walls of a safe zone will always just bug out and refuse to do anything besides attempting to exit the safe zone unless you place your character directly in front of the zombie preventing them from exiting, then they might begin to attack you, but you asked for it in that case. The sun simply applying standard levels of uv light across them might not be enough for them to be incapacitated, an example of this would be shown by the uv lights at night only serving to deter them momentarily with what appears to be mostly just a sudden flash of unexpected pain until they overcome it.Īs far as the safety of safe zones is concerned, volatiles will still pounce on you if you remain too close to the edge, even if it means pushing you farther inside the safe zone. I would argue the reason biters and virals are able to withstand daytime uv light is the consistency and how it isn't so sudden and direct. Trust me, I've played around with these mechanics quite a bit ) In COOP, it took me 7 or 8 or even higher to kill a volatile. At Easy difficulty, playing single, it took me 4 hits to kill a volatile. The 2H axe is more powerful but the time for one hit will allow you to hit 3 time if using a 1H slashing weapon. If you try to capture a safezone by turning on the power before you close any open doors, you'll notice the Biters and Virals STILL aren't affected by the UV light. When there are more than 2 or 3, it is best to use a 1H slashing weapon. Notice how both Biters and Virals are out during the day? Where the sun is shining UV light everywhere? (And yes, that's why Volatiles only come out at night) You can also shine your UV light directly at them and nothing will happen. With the information the game's story gives you, they should be affected by UV light, but during actual gameplay that's not the case. Bites and virals also get affected by UV light. They ran around randomly ignoring everyone until I got bored and walked away and they despawned. I got two volatiles stuck in the safezone with Zere's trailer once. If a zombie does get into a safe zone (this can happen in a few ways, all of which aren't intended to happen), they pretty much just sit there and ignore the player. So in reality virals should be able to easily climb into safe zones, but it can't happen in the game.
